It has been a while since I’ve shared a Do You Even Lift, Ro and I am so excited to share with you my experience testing out Abigail from Living the Gray Life’s Strong and Confident Workout Program! Do You Even Lift, Ro is a series in which I review different workouts, and you can find my previous reviews here! Towards the end of the fall, I totally fell out of my workout routine so I stopped going to the gym and as soon as it was too cold to run outside I became a library bound couch potato, eating delivery, sleeping less than 6 hours, and not even scheduling…

Indoor Rock Climbing | #DoYouEvenLiftRo
A few weeks ago, I tried SoulCycle (and hated it) and as I was looking for my next workout, you guys challenged me to try Rock Climbing. This post is part of my ongoing series Do You Even Lift, Ro, where I try different workouts and review them here. I went to Brooklyn Boulders in West Loop, where two members of my college’s Rock Climbing Team taught me how it works. The Challenge My friend Danielle challenged me to try Indoor Rock Climbing. She ran Cross Country and Track every season in high school, so when I wanted to give my legs a break from all the running post-marathon, she…

We Tried Bombshell Fitness’s Transformation Workout Plan | #DoYouEvenLiftRo
While I was busy running a marathon, trying SoulCycle, and falling in love with Yoga Sculpt, my friends Arushi and Hannah decided to take on Bombshell Fitness’s Transformation Workout Plan for 12 whole weeks this summer. Optimized to help women get ready for bodybuilding competitions, the Transformation Workout Plan has been featured on Muscle and Fitness and a number of other fitness outlets. I loved hearing about their experience this summer. My name is Arushi, and I am incredibly excited to write for Rosana’s blog! This summer, my friend, Hannah and I tried The Transformation Workout Plan. This is a workout plan lasting 5 days a week for 12 weeks.…

I Tried (and Hated) SoulCycle | #DoYouEvenLiftRo
After running the marathon and trying CorePower Yoga, I decided it was time to try another cult exercise class, SoulCycle. I wanted to do a whole month of classes, and spent the spring saving so I could afford them. I was so excited to try it, so you can imagine my disappointment when I finally took my first few classes. Honestly, I’m the ideal SoulCycle client. Health-conscious millennial blogger that I am, I love exercise, loud music, and cardio. SoulCycle should’ve been the single greatest addition to my exercise plan. I planned to try a whole month of classes, saved money for them, and even talked my mom and my…

Namaste Beaches: My Week at CorePower Yoga | #DoYouEvenLiftRo
After the marathon, I figured it’d be good to spend my exercise time doing something a little less extreme to my body. In my eyes, there really isn’t anything that puts less stress on your body than yoga so I decided it was time to give yoga another try. I challenged myself to a week where I went to a CorePower Yoga (CPY) class every day (which is convenient, since CPY offers a free week of Yoga). CPY has a cult following on campus primarily populated by girls in other sororities so I decided it was time to claim a spot for mine. I recruited my sisters that stuck around…

I Ran a Marathon: Bay of Fun(die) | #DoYouEvenLiftRo
This was the hardest thing I have ever done. After six months of relentless training, I took a few days off of work, jumped on a plane to Boston, grabbed my mom and my friend Katie, drove 7 hours up to Canada, and ran 26.2 miles of non-stop hills on an almost 80 degree day with barely any shade. Six hours of grueling pain later, I crossed the finish line. This is what it was like to run my first marathon at the Bay of Fundy. Deciding to Run I played soccer throughout my childhood and ran cross country in high school, so I was reasonably active before college. Last…

I Ran A Half-Marathon! How Race Training Changed My Life | #DoYouEvenLiftRo
After months of hard work, I did it! I made running a half marathon my goal, stuck to my exercise plan, learned how to eat healthy, and finally made it to the race day. This was my experience figuring out how to make this goal a reality and how it felt to finally run 13.1 miles. Deciding to Do it Growing up in Boston, everyone would go out to support the runners every Marathon Monday and I could picture adult-me running the race. When I started running in high school, the marathon felt more like a dream that I’d never realized. This year, when I set some goals for the school year, I…
